Kevin Kane (The Grapes of Wrath) and Bryan Potvin (The Northern Pikes) join the Pod Couple to talk about their collaboration as a duo, the building of an album (side 1 and side 2), their vision for the future, hotel names (take that you over-zealous groupie!), and so much more.

The show kicks off with the memory making moment of the Pod Couple’s first meeting with Kevin and Bryan.   

From there, Kevin and Bryan settle in to talk about the making of their self-titled album and how they transitioned from creating and performing music with bands to becoming a duo. The pair works so well together; Bryan sums it up best with his comment about their musical hearts being made of similar stuff.  A SHOUT OUT to Darryl Neudorf for the work he did with Kevin and Bryan on their album. There is interesting discussion about the Danish documentary ‘The Five Obstructions’ and how similar concepts were utilized in the making of side 2 of their album-very interesting stuff.

There is chat about remakes, the past being comforting, David Hasselhoff, Teletubbies, Kung Fury, a Tegan and Sara connection, the side of a van coming to life, reoccurring dreams, and the hotel names that the guys used back in the day.

Kevin and Bryan play a round of Dead or Alive, which includes interesting stories about Kansas, short shorts, Rick James, Prince AND a new catch phrase ‘on a scale of one to all of it’.

A missing slab of wood has potential as a mote or pit for unwanted visitors. Talk of that missing piece of wood leads into a discussion about recent cul-de-sac drama  - thank god the SWAT chose the driveway and not the stairs!

Dougems then recounts a scary late night home experience. It wasn't an official segment, but it definitely begs the question - what would YOU do?

From there, the pod copule talks about their Seattle experience: moving forward one step er' i mean sentence at a time proved to be fatal.....what, Podgal, why didn't you read the part about the time limit to get to the elevator!!! it's one thing to get into the building, but a whole different story (er sentence anyway!) to get up to the room. 

The Pod Couple give a SHOUT OUT to Belltown Seattle - they loved the neighborhood.  

PodGuy has been doing a fair bit of travelling lately and ends up having a few bathroom stories  which involve a beautiful cleansing experience, an alleged soulless boy (you'll learn a tip do recognize such), a 5 digit bathroom code, and a luxury dump!

Another SHOUT OUT - this time to David at the Home Office in Belltown. He was AWESOME as was his very eclectic store!

Finally, they get to the Seattle Bar Crawl. A Shout Out to all of the new friends that they made and to the awesome folks from Carolla Drinks and Carolla Digitial (the pirate ship) - they were awesome.

The next day, after over 24 hours of not eating, they find themselves in the Pride Parade, witness to the AMAZING Spiderman, at the Chihuly Glass exhibit and then at the Pride apres parade party on the edge of the taunting fountain....it's alot of fun. And did we say purple penis!

Recorded on National Beer Day and fresh off of popping their Live Instagram chat cherries, the podcouple takes a break from setting up for their Dance Party to Cheers and Freewheel on the podcast.

They recount the experience on Instagram and how a certain device can take them from Happiness to Hell in a matter of seconds.

They then recount a wonderful airport pickup, a previous dance party that involved spiderman, sirens, a smoke machine, and of course, a disco ball and, hey, what dance party would be complete without some EDM (sorry Adam) and some PEACHES.

PodGuy kicks off the show with some extra energy. Strap in and get ready for a magical conversation which should elicit much laughter, and, hey, you might even learn a thing or two!

Well, what have you been watching on YouTube? It seems that all three of the gang have been on YouTube, and the 3 topics are very varied. Let us know which of the viewings you find most interesting. Hastag MadTV,AliceInWonderland,WhiteRabbit,TheFirm.

After the YouTube talk, a few minutes are spent on Box Office Wonder – Tom Cruise and how he always blasts it out of the park, but really, is he the kind of guy you’d like to sit down for a beer with?

At about the 11 minute mark, PodGal gives an update on their lava lamp family and some creative art ideas start to flow.

At 15:30 they talk about a white noise sleep system that the pod couple used to use which leads Dougems to recall one of his favorite Simpson’s episodes. And this leads to some Angie Tribecca talk (if you haven’t already, please check out the TV series – it is AWESOME).

And…they’re back…..the pod couple that is! 

PodGal reads from her facebook feed and provides some interesting information about cows, seaweed, PEI and a solution for some environmental probs. PodGuy is tempted to go deep, deep undercover to sleuth out the facts.

At 28:25 PodGuy reveals what his first cassette tape was and what he wishes it had been.

At 35:15 PodGal talks about a personal issue that she and PS2 have recently experienced, whereas PodGuy seems well versed in the condition and jumps in to assist in a delicate procedure to help PS2 regain his hearing.

Dougem’s paints a picture of PEI – close your eyes………

At 48:07 PodGal talks about an experiment involving white rats, their babies and the scent of cherry blossoms – it’s really interesting! PodGuy hijacks the convo. and diverts to Cherry Blossom Candy Bar talk which elicits much laughter, and some damn good drops! Thankfully, Dougems gets the gang back on track because he wants to hear the end of the rat experiment story.

At 54:00 PodGal asks if the group would feel comfortable having their minds read. The answer from PodGuy might surprise you!  Dougems then remembers a Twilight Zone episode with Dick York.

At 1:03, PodGal loops back to some more Cherry Blossom talk and brings up an interesting tool that a former boss used to motivate the team when the project went off the rails.

Pranks Gone Too Far

PodGuy has a couple of predictions;  one being somewhat exciting, yet a tad scary.  PodGuy has an update of her own. She then talks about a new ‘friend’ who’s given her an ultimatum that she’s not very happy about.  It turns out that Facebook is pissed off at the PodGal.

Hey, PodGuy had a Bday and he did a few different things, one being an Isolation Tank.  Immersed in salt water, surrounded by darkness, he came out a tad altered. They think that PodGal needs to experience the isolation tank as she’s very much into medication – listen to find out what might happen! PodGuy then talks about a childhood bday memory and a cake that his mom made based on a childhood tradition. Watch out for not just buttons, but the good luck googly eye.

Remember when PodGuy brought back the tantrum? Well, he’s added to his repertoire, PodGal feels it’s gone too far.

Can pranks go wrong? PodGay relays a story about a Hunter S. Thompson Prank and then PodGal remembers a few pranks in which she was involved: involving Crows, Sammy the Snake, a Treasure Garden, and legs in a pencil case.

PodGuy kicks off the podcast lamenting the fact that there is a Leo Mug in the house – how dare this happen during his birthday month – the month of the Scorpio’s Bday!

Dougems reminisces about some beloved headphones, satin short shorts, ‘Chips’ – he goes deep into the 70’s! Then PodGuy brings up some old news about our beloved William (Bill to his friends) Shatner and a suspicious tragedy. ‘Weird or What!’ says Dougems. ‘It’s Brilliant Bill!’ exclaims Dougems.  The group then talks about more weird (or what) celebrity deaths. 

PodGuy then consults his notebook, and he and Dougems begin to compose a song. 

And, you’re not going to believe this! He consults his book again and tells a tale about pain and a great invention to avoid a sharp pain that most parents (and more) can relate to.  In related news, PodGal’s saving up her birthday money and is contemplating blowing it all on a kick ass Lego set.

Throughout the show, PodGuy’s trying to get a new catch phrase going, and let me tell ya’, it doesn’t really  catch on.

They group talk about Our Moment – the Jay’s Game and Pod Gal learns, the hard way, that basic cable really does mean BASIC, and unfortunately, it ends with Pod Gal standing her mom up on a date.

PodGuy then presents some facts about super heroes, crushing weaknesses and the colour yellow. He then admits to one of his secret weaknesses which leads to a memory of a trip to Mexico where he was in a grocery store where his secret (no longer) weakness could have ended with bad results as PodGal waiting in the cab.

They wrap with a bit of tequila and tequila worm talk, and another admission by PodGuy of yet another secret weakness. And, finally, he talks about a new crime podcast.

The Pod Couple kicks off the show talking about their experiences at the Peaches concert, which was filled with techno, sexual, raw energy rock, and a lot of nipple. FREE THE NIPPLE.  PodGal then recounts her experiences at the concert which includes the angst of being caught in a ‘twerk circle’ and the Vagina dancers, how the costume has changed since the last concert, and an epiphany.

PodGuy jumps right in and gives an UPDATE about a new feature on PokemonGo that has PodGal very excited. PodGal then relays a bit of a beef.  She then recounts a story about a beloved office supply and how it relates to a story based on an experience that relates to a story that Harland Williams mentioned on The Harland Highway PodCast. PodGal is overcome with guilt but misses the beloved office supply so dearly.

PodGuy starts to give out some alleged lucky numbers. PodGal is NOT a fan of the segment.

PodGal ends up losing a beloved shirt, and she wants it back.

Whatever You - Do NOT drink the water

A Banned Substance is BACK in da’ house, and boy, does it make PodGuy happy. He kicks off the show using his sexy, sexy voice….the banned substance obvs agrees with him!

PodGuy and PodGal sit down at the table and have a proper podcast after so many PB ‘audio periscopes’.

They recap their day at the river, and an emergency plunge into the cold, fast moving water – wonder whatever could make PodGal take that leap.

PodGal applauds the beer company, Salt Water Brewery, that makes biodegradable beer rings and PodGuy tells us about plant matter and how he’s going to go deep, deep undercover to get to the bottom of the matter. He then tells a tale from childhood about a memorable new type of ‘bottle’.

They then go back to more tales from the afternoon at the river.

PodGal has a secret – check out Instagram so you can see the secret that PodGal placed in the podcasting area. PodGuy said he noticed – but did he?!

PodGuy tells a story with a twist and it makes the Couple sad. He then follows up with a story about making breakfast and it leads to tales of eggs, cracking eggs, types of eggs, yolks, and finding eggs in weird places. PodGal has to go deep under cover to figure out about things being placed in weird places. Apparently it’s a Crazy House and speaking of crazy, PodGuy finds something disturbing in the drive way.

They then reminisce about fun times in PodGuy’s Mustang and all kinds of ‘hoopla’. Gotta’ love hoopla except for the dog that went missing. Sad Face.

They then go back to more river tales and how the podcast episode was named!

PodGuy then goes back to the driveway find. Would it be a red flag to find underwear in the driveway?

The Pod Couple looks forward to their upcoming Iron Maiden Concert, and Bruce Dickenson's classic 'Scream for Me <insert city name>' scream. Who else 'sing screams', besides Dave Grohl that is?

PodGal then thanks the PodGuy for assisting her with the reset of some of her car's digital settings that were lost after the car battery died, alone, at the airport. The Couple then has a debate on the reason for the battery's demise.  Stay tuned and listen in  to the end of the show - PodGal tells a tale about how her GPS taking on some macabre characteristics.

“The Ripper”

Pod Guy welcomes the listeners to the podcast and commits to it being a ‘ripper’! Hang on and enjoy the listen!

Pod Gal gives an update on the use of the emoji in response to PodSon#1’s text. She then has a bit of a beef and goes through some of the many, many open internet tabs on her phone. She then talks about how Japan’s women’s curling team inspired her and reminded her that it is okay to laugh and have fun at work. Doing a good job and having fun aren’t mutually exclusive. She finishes up this portion talking about how Kenny Rogers saved her life whilst driving home from a volley ball tournament. Train, ‘Calling all Angels’ did the same thing at a very different time as did Harry Potter (on tape)!

Pod Guy talks about ‘social lubrication’ and the couple goes on to talk about their thoughts on Vaseline on the nightstand, asking a friend who’s gay to be more flamboyant for a day, breast feeding, La Leche League, what happens when the guys take over social event planning at the office, etc.

Hey there Listeners,

PodGuy is having a great day..no ailments, he's got his candle lit and it's changing colour, and he is feeling the love for you, the listeners - love, love, loving you guys! And, did we tell you? He could be a hand model - pic to come. Check out our Instgram!

PodGal, yes you heard us right - pod GAL, has a few Versus and a few Beefs but is she ever loving Movies these days - to the max! Check out Attack the Block and Night at the Museum 2: Battle at the Smithsonian. At the rate she's going, she's even going to like Batman Vs Superman AND Ghostbusters 3.

PodGal opens up the little black book and reads some wine reviews from days gone by and then goes on to tell us a Teacher Horror Story. Who knew there was a wine called Cats Pee on a Gooseberry - hope it tasted better than it sounds!

They close out the show with an update a creative project that will soon be available and discuss a new game that they are thinking about: WineWars. Clearly they are still working out all of the details, but I think they're on to something! The first round will be Apothic Red Vs Menage a Trois Vs Bodacious.

King Kong Shooter Research on a Saturday Night

At the Tiki Bar, the Pod Couple experiments with a new type of Shooter that turns out to be a huge success, with the exception of their struggle to pronounce Cacao!

Pod Gal then talks about some of the things she learned today – who can imagine being held hostage for hourS by the meringues…..yikes, and thank God she didn’t put the basil in.

Talk about scary happenings and one of the hit songs from The Foggy Picnic Album called ‘Broken Jesus’. 

Then PodGal recounts a memory of a bible camp hike in the heat, her first experience in a communal shower, reading ‘Are you there God, It’s me Margaret’.

The PodCouple challenges Weird Al to a game of Crud (it’s real – google it), doing a podcast and playing Aztec Pinball!

The Couple wraps up quickly – just like tearing a band aid off – best to get it over with – saying goodbye can be so sad.

The show kicks off with a bit of chaos. When will PodGuy learn NOT to wear his milk bone suit?! It made PodDog all crazy and created a huge distraction. CHAOS, I say!

Friend of the show, Yoda, joins to answer a few questions. 

PodGal provides updates on a number of topics:  the rock polisher (which involves the mystery of the disappearing rocks), the phone case situation, the towel management system, and a Weird Al update (he's sure making a come back).

They couple continues to look for an email from a listener so that they can send out a prize and a polished rock!  Come on!!! Send in those emails!
